The website owner and the designer work together toward a common goal, which is to produce a site that communicates your website’s purpose AND motivates the viewer to take action based on your content.
Owner
As the Website’s Owner, your goal is to reach your targeted audience via a website. Your understand how to communicate with your audience and have worked on a profile that further defines the audience’s characteristics.
Plus you have the written copy and gathered the other assets (photos, videos, sound recordings) together. Additionally, you will provide important feedback during the website’s creation process.
Maker/Designer
As the Website’s Maker/Designer, my goal is to take your content and then create the best possible website that communicates your purpose and enhances the “user experience” in order to motivate the visitor to take action. (Read more about the “user experience” at Wikipedia.)
Visitor
So both of our goals overlap in wanting to communicate effectively with the Website’s Intended Users. The User wants to find the information that they are looking for easily and intuitively hopefully, in order to take an action.
